Origins of Theatre
The theory that I'm currently finding the most cogent to myself is Else's theory of Spontaneous Generation (Storytelling). Since a young age, I've been surrounded by folk tales that are believed to be passed through generations through a spoken form. They were first told to me by my grandparents and parents, and every theatre piece I watched, later on, was either based on or had elements of those tales until I was eleven. I believe every culture had a need for storytelling from their beginning and continued to do it until someone decided to take on a character and acted the story out instead of telling it.
